EAST PRAIRIE -- Living History Day, sponsored by the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, will be held Sept. 21 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Big Oak Tree State Park.
Crafts and skills, such as basket weaving, blacksmithing, quilting, spinning, barrel making, black powder gun demonstrations and banjo playing, will be demonstrated at the event to show how early Missouri settlers lived.
A bluegrass band will play from 2 to 5 p.m. and there will be special activities for children.
Catfish dinners will be served by the James Bayou Catfish Cookers for $5 for adults and $2.50 for children under 12.
In case of rain, the event will be rescheduled for Sept. 22.
