Fruitland Livestock FRUITLAND, Mo. -- Fruitland Livestock Auction Tuesday. Receipts, 488; Last week, 564; Last year, 582. Compared to Last week feeder quality steers sold steady and quality heifers sold steady to 3.00 lower, however 50 Percent of the offering was rather poor quality. A good quality, larger framed herd bull would pay great returns on the lower 50 Percent of the offering today and would give a better image to the beef industry. Slaughter cows and bulls sold 2.00 lower; Demand and supply light. Cows made up approximately 19 Percent of the run, feeders 81 Percent. Steers made up approximately 53 Percent of the offering, 47 Percent heifers. Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 19 Percent.

Feeder steers: Medium and Large 1 300-350 lbs 97.00-99.00. Medium and Large 1-2 300-400 lbs 86.00-93.50; 400-500 lbs 82.00-92.50; 500-600 lbs 78.50-88.50; 600-700 lbs 74.00-81.50; 725-750 lbs 72.25-77.50. Medium and Large 2 470-500 lbs 70.00-79.50; 500-575 lbs 70.25-76.00; 600-650 lbs 68.50-73.00.

Cows and bulls made up approximately 8 Percent of the run, 92 Percent feeders. Steers made up approximately 56 Percent and 44 Percent heifers.

Offerings over 600 lbs totaled around 29 Percent.
