The concert by the rock band Live scheduled for May 7 at the Show Me Center has been postponed indefinitely.

Also scheduled to perform were Local H and Tracy Bonham.

Poor ticket sales was the primary reason for postponing the show, said David Ross, director of the Show Me Center.

"We caught them before their new album really is out. They've been in Europe, and it (the concert) hasn't caught hold," Ross said. "The target audience has other opportunities."

Fewer than 1,000 tickets had been sold for the concert. The Show Me Center staff was planning to set up the venue for a maximum audience of about 4,000.

Ross said Live is going on tour with Counting Crows this summer and could be re-booked later. "They could get really hot. We didn't close those doors, but we thought the best thing to do is close the doors on this particular date," Ross said.

Live plays at the Sandstone Amphitheater in Kansas City July 28 and at the Riverport Amphitheater in St. Louis on July 29.

Ticket refunds will be available at the Show Me Center box office beginning at 9 a.m Monday.

For more information about refunds, phone the box office at 651-5000.
