Lights finally back on after ice storm

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- Southeast Missouri residents who have struggled without electricity for more than three weeks have had their power restored.

Electric cooperatives and municipal utilities said Thursday that with few exceptions, the remaining 200 customers without power have gotten it back.

A Jan. 26-27 ice storm wiped out entire systems for transmitting and distributing power across large portions of southern Missouri.

More than 100,000 customers in Missouri were without electricity after the storm.
