Jackson Public Library will hold an in-house story time hour at 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays for children in preschool through fifth grade.
The June 6 storytime was on the theme "Magic School Bus/Magic Treehouse Fun" during which books were read aloud. Children made their own "magic carpet" and a puppet character to ride on it.
This Wednesday's theme will be "Super-Sensational Spelling Bee" where children will play spelling games. Prizes will be given to participants. There will be snacks served and door prizes given out each week.
Children must sign up ahead of time and may do so by calling the Jackson Public Library at 243-5150, or by stopping by the Library between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, or 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
It's not too late to sign up for the Summer Reading Program where for every 20 books the young children read, they will get a chance to win prizes.
