The Cape Girardeau Public Library begins its annual winter reading program "Discover the Reading Rainforest" with registration starting Monday. The program runs for 10 weeks and ends March 20. Children from birth to age 18 may participate. Throughout the 10 weeks of the program, children will earn prizes as they read library books on their own or have library books read to them...

The Cape Girardeau Public Library begins its annual winter reading program "Discover the Reading Rainforest" with registration starting Monday.

The program runs for 10 weeks and ends March 20. Children from birth to age 18 may participate. Throughout the 10 weeks of the program, children will earn prizes as they read library books on their own or have library books read to them.

Upon completion of the program, children will be eligible for a grand prize drawing and a free book. The last day to sign up is March 31.

Children may register at the Youth Services desk at the library, 711 N. Clark. For registration information, call the library at (573) 334-5279.

The program was made possible in part by a donation from the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3775.
