Saying they are "extremely disappointed," organizers of the 2008 Libertyfest and Air Show said today the event will move to Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

"River levels are projected to be at a level that will not allow for the river activities required to hold this event," said Chris Hutson, Old Town Cape Board president, in a written statement. "Our first concern must be for the safety of everyone involved, not only the spectators but the performers, technicians and rescue personnel as well. The projected river levels are too high for us to be on the river. This is simply beyond our control."
