Libertarian Party Nominee for president, Andre Marrou, who has been touring Missouri the past week, will hold a town meeting at 7 p.m. today at the Holiday Inn, Cape Girardeau.
Marrou, 53, is a former member of the Alaska State Legislature and was the Libertarian vice presidential nominee in 1988. He is a commercial real estate broker and a 1962 graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Marrou's running mate is Nancy Lord, who has degrees in medicine and law. She was an unsuccessful candidate for mayor of Washington, D.C., in 1990.
The Libertarian Party is the nation's third largest political party, with more than 200 elected officials nationwide. The party is based on a philosophy of limited government, free enterprise and individual liberty.
