The national American Legion was founded in 1919 in Paris, France. The organization has opened its doors to veterans of World War I, World War II, the Korean War, Vietnam War, Panama, Grenada and Desert Storm.

Thursday's dinner celebration will complete the organization's 1992 membership drive.
