Old Lorimier Cemetery will come alive from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday with stories of famous Cape Girardeau founders at the second "Legends of Lorimier" event.

The event will feature tales about residents such as Louis Lorimier and Lewis Houck, and stories about the steamboat explosion and epidemic.

"The event was a great success last year," said Paula Gresham, event chairwoman. "The cemetery is a true gem and holds many stories important to Cape Girardeau's history."

The event is sponsored by the Cape Girardeau Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Legends of Lorimier is open to the public, and tickets may be purchased in advance at the CVB. Tickets for adults are $3 and children under 12 will be admitted for $1.50.

The event will be canceled in the event of heavy rains.
