Presson named to leadership forum this fall
Lucas Presson was recently nominated to the National Student Leadership Forum to be held this fall in Washington, D.C. He is a sophomore at Southeast Missouri State University and the son of Don and Janet Presson of Cape Girardeau.
The Alpha Eta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi at Southeast Missouri State University recently received the Achieving Chapter Excellence Award for 2003-2005. Kappa Delta Pi is an honor society focused on dedication and scholarship in education.
The following local students were selected to attend the American Legion Boys State of Missouri this month on the campus of Central Missouri State University:
Scott City High School: Matthew Hayes, son of Mark and Debbie Hayes.
Central High School: Barrett Kinsey; Malcolm Boyce, son of Donald and Michele Swanks.; Garrett Ozbun, son of Bart and Lorili Ozbun; Lance Altenthal, son of Brad and Karen Altenthal; Conrad Westrich, son of Roger and Pam Westrich; Trevor Beckham and Trenton Beckham, sons of Don and Lisa Beckham; Clayton Hill, son of Lisa Helle and Trea Hill;
Notre Dame Regional High School: John Kolda; Xavier Delph; Lundi McIntyre, son of Tim and Elizabeth McIntyre of Bell City; Zach Stanfield, son of Kevin and Susan Stanfield.

* Rita Jo Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau, 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and daughter of Steve and Charlotte Dirnberger, received the president's scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University.
* Brian McCrate of Cape Girardeau, a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame Regional High School and son of Matthew and Alice McCrate, received the governor's scholarship from Southeast Missouri State University.
* Corey Main of Cape Girardeau, a 2005 graduate of Central High School and son of Mr. and Mrs. James Main, received the Founder's Scholarship, achievement award and Alumni Sibling award at Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.

* Nadia Sauer, daughter of Darryl and Debby Sauer of Cape Girardeau, received a doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine.
* Jayme Carrico of Cape Girardeau received a master's degree in business administration from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind.
* Laura McClard of Cape Girardeau received a master's degree in social work from University of South Carolina.
