McDonald named to dean's list at Johnson & Wales University

Sarah McDonald of Jackson has been named to the dean's list for the 2006 winter term at Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, N.C.

Several local students receive scholarships

• Abby Moore and Chelsea White, both of Cape Girardeau, have been awarded Governor's scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2006-2007 academic year.

A senior at Notre Dame Regional High School, Moore is the daughter of Donald and Anita Moore of Cape Girardeau.

A senior at Central High School, White is the daughter of Robin and Drew White of Cape Girardeau.

* Danielle Gross of Cape Girardeau, Leah Warren and Jennifer Keusenkothen, both of Jackson, and Kathleen Farrow of Altenburg, Mo., have been awarded President's scholarships and Missouri Leadership awards to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Gross, a senior at Cape Girardeau Central High School, also was awarded a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship to attend Southeast. She is the daughter of David and Robyn Gross of Cape Girardeau.

Warren, a senior at Jackson High School, is the daughter of Dave and Chris Warren of Jackson.

Keusenkothen, a senior at Notre Dame Regional High School, is the daughter of Jim and Kim Keusenkothen of Jackson.

Farrow, a senior at Jackson High School, is the daughter of Donald and Cindy Farrow of Altenburg.

* Zachary Kluesner, Aaron Huey, Tanya Lambert and Jessica Cook, all of Cape Girardeau; and Phillip Yarbro and Justin McCollum, both of Jackson; and Josh Puckett of Oran, Mo., have been awarded Regents' scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Kluesner, Huey, Lambert and Yarbro also received Missouri Assessment Program scholarships.

Kluesner, Huey and Cook attend Central High School. Lambert and Yarbro attend Jackson High School. McCollum is a senior at Saxony Lutheran High School. Puckett is a senior at Oran High School.

Kluesner is the son of James and Joanie Kluesner of Cape Girardeau. Huey is the son of Tim and Cindy Huey of Cape Girardeau. Lambert is the daughter of Robert and Penny Ross of Cape Girardeau. Cook is the daughter of Michael and Lynda Cook of Cape Girardeau. Yarbro is the son of Edna and Larry Yarbro of Jackson. McCollum is the son of Steven and Dixie McCollum of Jackson. Puckett is the son of Gary and Mary Puckett of Oran.

* Amy Taylor of Scott City has been awarded a Community College Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Taylor will graduate this spring from Shawnee Community College in Illinois. She is the daughter of Robert and Salle Taylor of Scott City.

* Kori Fowler of Chaffee, Mo., Tyler Grantham of Jackson, and Rachael Unterreiner of Cape Girardeau have been awarded Missouri Leadership awards to attend Southeast Missouri State University for the 2006-2007 academic year.

Grantham also received a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship and a Boy's State Leadership Award.

Fowler, a senior at Chaffee High School, is the daughter of Jim and Janie Fowler of Chaffee.

Grantham, a senior at Jackson High School, is the son of Rick and Dixie Grantham of Jackson.

Unterreiner, a senior at Notre Dame Regional High School, is the daughter of Wayne and Jane Unterreiner of Cape Girardeau.

* Brittne Stovall of Cape Girardeau has received a Missouri Assessment Program Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

* Kandi Pennington of McClure, Ill., has been awarded a Regional Achievement Award and a University Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Pennington, a senior at Shawnee High School, is the daughter of Stephen and Patsy Pennington of McClure.

* Heather O'Connor of Cape Girardeau has been awarded a President's Plus Scholarship to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

A senior at Jackson High School, she is the daughter of Linda Donaldson of Cape Girardeau and the late Mike O'Connor.

Music students earn awards

Keyboards and Kindermusik Conservatory students have received first and second Gold Cup awards through the National Federation of Music Clubs. First Gold Cup winners included Sam Breite, Chandler Dobbs, Joshua Hicks, Ben Johnston, Riley Knight, Caleb Norman, Christian Ritter, Kristyn Sanders, Danielle Swoboda, Evan Thomsen, Anna Thomsen, Daniel Thomsen and Garrett Walker.

Second Gold Cup winners included Lindsey Davis, Lessley Dennington, Aaron Mehner, Alex Mehner, Austin Mehner, Matthew Reed and Rebekah Weber.
