Local students land Southeast scholarships

Amanda Girard and Audrey Stanfield, both of Cape Girardeau, and Shannon Cobb and Jennifer Hinkebein, both of Jackson, have received President's scholarships to attend Southeast Missouri State University.

Schuchart receives art award

Laura Schuchart, a senior at Notre Dame Regional High School, was awarded the Bootheel Regional Art Guild Fine Art Scholarship. She plans to attend the University of Missouri-St. Louis. She won first place in water color, second place in graphic arts and mixed media, and third place in ceramics and painting at recent art competitions in Poplar Bluff and Sikeston, Mo.
