Heartfest '94, an attempt to reach 140,0000 Missouri consumers with information about how to eat healthily, will be held Oct. 22-29.

The focus of Heartfest this year is on the new labels now on food packages and cans. Heartfest is sponsored by the American Heart Association.

Participating stores are Schnucks, Super Walmart, Shop n Save, Del Farm, Food Giant, and in Jackson, Schapers IGA and Town and Country.

Supermarket tours have been scheduled in which shoppers can go through the store with dieticians who will point how to shop forlow-fat foods.

The schedule of free tours is:

--Schnucks, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19. Phone 243-5222 to register.

--Schapers IGA, 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26. Phone 334-9355 to register.

Volunteers will be in the participating stotres Oct. 22-29 handing out coupon booklets.
