National, state and local issues will be reviewed at Thursday night's meeting of the League of Women Voters of Cape Girardeau County, said local league president, Francis Harris.
The meeting will be held at Mr. B's Waffles and Deli. Those who wish to share dinner will gather at 6; the business meeting will convene at 7.
Yvonne Ketcham, local legislative action chairman, will report on the 1992-94 program issues and lead an assessment of state and local league positions.
She and other members will lead the discussion of nine issues suggested by the national board for consideration. These issues, from which the local league will choose three, are: Crisis in the cities, early intervention for children at risk, federal deficit and economic adjustment, health care, international democracy, opening government to citizens, waste management and pollution prevention, and women's economic equity.
