Times for each session will be 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., in the mall's Center Court. League members who have been trained and deputized by County Clerk Rodney Miller will be registering voters.

Different groups of candidates have been invited to mingle with voters informally to explain their positions on relevant subjects and to answer questions.

Candidates for U.S. Congress and the Cape Girardeau County Commission have been invited to the Tuesday night session. League deputies that night will be Shannon Anders, Yvonne Ketcham, Glenda Quinn and Fran Harris.

Wednesday night's session will include candidates for state senator and state representative. League deputies will be Diane Gregory, Martha Vandivort, Sandy Bonner and Lois Unfer.

Candidates for county offices other than county commission have been invited to the Thursday night session. League deputies will be Marilyn Ritter, Marie Todd and Nelda Steffen.

In addition to meeting the candidates and registering to vote, citizens will also be able to witness demonstrations of the punch-card voting system now used in Cape Girardeau County.

Membership in the league is open to any interested citizen. The league is a non-partisan political organization aimed at encouraging informed public participation in government at all levels.
