A new locally produced television program featuring local attorneys discussing aspects of law will air Sunday.
"Perspective on the Law" can be seen at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on Cape Girardeau's cable access channel.
During the first 30-minute show, attorneys Diane Howard and Malcom Montgomery will discuss consumer credit, debt and things to avoid.
Retired Judge Marybelle Mueller will moderate the shows.
Mueller, attorney Mike Maguire, and Jim Dufek with the mass communications department at Southeast Missouri State University produce the show.
Maguire said the programs are designed to be educational.
Scheduled topics are workers' compensation, driving while intoxicated, domestic relations and child support.
The Cape Girardeau Bar Association received a $3,000 matching education grant from the Missouri Bar Association to produce the show. The local bar is providing the matching $3,000, Maguire said.
If response to the programs is good, Maguire said the shows may be offered to other Southeast Missouri communities on other cable access channels.
