Upon arrival the shed in the rear of the business was fully engulfed, and had spread to a couple of cars. A house behind the business was exposed to the heat from the fire. A Monday night fire at Best Buy Motors on Kingshighway has been determined to be electrical in origin.

According to the Cape Girardeau Fire Department, upon arrival firefighters noticed a heavy fire coming from the structure and it was quickly brought under control. Crews responded to the call at 11:42 p.m. and were on the scene for more than two hours.

Damage to the shed was reported as extensive and the estimated dollar loss was $25,000. A house behind the shed at 1249 Marilyn Drive sustained minor heat damage. No injuries were reported.
