Last of 7 gun dealers pleads guilty in illegal Mo. sales

ST. LOUIS (AP) -- All seven men indicted in December for illegally selling firearms at a northeast Missouri flea market have now pleaded guilty, U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway said Wednesday.

The last of the suspects, Daniel Brashers of Ferguson, entered his guilty plea Wednesday in federal court. He will be sentenced Aug. 3.

The men were accused of illegally selling guns at a flea market in Rutledge, and failing to record buyer information. Authorities seized more than 1,000 weapons in searches in southern Iowa and eastern Missouri, Hanaway's office said.

Hanaway said the illegal sales make it difficult for authorities to trace weapons used in violent crimes.

Those who previously pleaded guilty included:

--James Milburn of Powersville, Mo., who will be sentenced June 8.

--Vaughn Fogle of Memphis, Mo., sentenced to five months of home confinement and fined $2,000.

--Ivan Lemley of West Point, Iowa, the only licensed firearms dealer of those who were indicted. He was sentenced to six months of home confinement, fined $2,000 and forfeited his firearms license.

--Ronald Harey of New London, Mo., sentenced to 13 months in prison.

--Donald Webb of Creston, Iowa, sentenced to five months in prison.

--Larry McCracken of Ewing, Mo., sentenced to one year and one day in prison.
