OLD MINES -- Fans of 18th century history can revisit the time in person Saturday and Sunday during La Fete a Renault, the 10th annual Rendezvous, Black Powder Shoot, Music Festival and Colonial Craft Exhibit held at Old Mines.
The festival is in Washington County on Route 21, five miles north of Potosi and about 50 miles east of Ste. Genevieve.
Admission and parking are free. Only participants need to be dressed in period clothing.
Entertainment will include a bagpipe band and traditional music.
The site has two clay bread ovens. The pastry called "Les Croquingoles" will be offered, along with "du Tac Tac" popcorn and beans cooked in iron kettles over open fires.
Sites will be open for both modern and primitive camping.
