KRCU, the National Public Radio affiliate station at Southeast Missouri State University, will add four new programs to its weekend schedule March 29, a university news release said.

The new programs are NPR's "Snap Judgment," NPR's "Fresh Air Weekend," NPR's "Intelligence Squared," and "America's Test Kitchen" from the Public Radio Exchange, the release said.

  • "Snap Judgment," a weekly public radio program distributed by NPR, highlights compelling people from worldwide with one commonality: They put everything on the line, the release said. As host Glynn Washington Washington explains, "It's the Robert Frost thing: the roads diverge, and you have to make a choice.
  • "This American Life" airs Saturdays at noon. With the new schedule, "Radiolab" will begin airing Saturdays at 2 p.m., and NPR's "TED Radio Hour" will begin airing at 3 p.m. Saturdays.
  • "Fresh Air" with Terry Gross is NPR's Peabody Award-winning weekday magazine of contemporary arts and issues. "Fresh Air Weekend" will be heard at 1 p.m. Sundays.

It will be followed up by "America's Test Kitchen" at 2 p.m. Sundays, and "Wits" at 3 p.m. Sundays.

The program changes are in part a response to a survey that KRCU radio conducted in February, the release said. Listeners counted "Morning Edition," "All Things Considered" and "Wait, Wait ... Don't Tell Me!" as their favorites. Respondents also reacted favorably to such programs as "This American Life," "The Diane Rehm Show" and "A Prairie Home Companion," the release said.
