KRCU Radio will bring "The Radio Reader," a popular program of National Public Radio to its daily programming Wednesday.
The show will air weekdays at 6 p.m.
KRCU is an NPR affiliate on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University.
The 30-minute program features longtime host Dick Estell reading from best sellers.
This Wednesday, Estell will begin reading "Moon Shot," a compelling drama about the sacrifices and risks of remarkable group of astronauts that led to the lunar landscape 25 years ago.
"Moon Shot" is co-authored by Alan Shepard and Deke Slayton.
"The Radio Reader" is an enormously popular program carried by more than 100 public radio stations nationwide," said Greg Petrowich, operations director at KRCU. "It's great to relax and listen to."
It typically takes about 30 episodes to complete the reading of a book. At that rate, Petrowich estimates the reading of "Moon Shot" will continue into September.
