SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Wednesday morning fire destroyed a Sikeston home.
The Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a call at 9:22 a.m. of a fire at 410 Prosperity St., according to Lt. Bill Mygatt. Firefighters had the blaze under control by 9:35 a.m. and extinguished shortly before 10 a.m.
No one was home at the time of the fire; however, a kitten was rescued, Mygatt said.
The cause of the fire is believed to be related to a kitchen range and not suspicious, Mygatt said.
