Good neighbors
Debbie Feiner of Jackson wants to thank her neighbors, Norman and Doris Birk, for dog sitting when they go out of town. The Birks have been doing this off and on for years. The Feiners say they couldn't have their dog, Cocoa, without the Birks.
A helpful family
Nellie Warren and grandchildren, Danny, Mark and Ruth Ann Warren, helped neighbor when her mother passed away in March. Mrs. Warren lived across the street and sent over plates of hot food via her grandchildren. The grandchildren also picked up papers, ran errands and swept off front porch.
Long-distance kindness
Mary Stucker of the Cape Chamber of Commerce reported that co-worker Mary LeDure delivered a birthday cake for a man in Maine. The man had called the chamber for help when the bakery couldn't guarantee delivery in time for his sister, who lives in Cape Girardeau. LeDure volunteered to deliver the cake on her way home Friday.
Growing friendships
Howard Bock reported his friend, Dean Allison, tilled his garden for him. Bock recently had heart bypass surgery and couldn't do heavy work. When Bock's wife mentioned Allison's kindness at her Bible class, classmate, Marilyn Ritter, gave her some tomato plants she had purchased for hew own garden. The Bocks now have a nice garden thanks to their two friends.
A real joy
Cora Huffman's neighbors are very thankful to have a neighbor like her. She gives them gardening advice, brings yummy desserts, and is a joy to be around. She's 82 years young.
More good neighbors
Dorothy Brown wants to thank her neighbors for helping her husband who has been diagnosed with cancer. Dorothy also had knee surgery. Earl Kimbrel picks up paper and put in the door. Pat Kimbrel brings over meals. Harry Krueger plowed the Brown's garden. Doug Buchheit and Rodney Poston mow the lawn. They are very fortunate good neighbors. Everyone has looked out for us.
Neighborhood help
Austin and Viola Bagby wants to thank Mick and Geneva Emmons for helping out. Austin Bagby has been sick for three months and the Emmons mow the lawn, keep yard up and takes care of the mail. They are just all around good neighbors.
Year-round kindness
Bessy Johnson called to thank Rosemary and Tom Whittard. They are two very caring people. She has a heart condition and is on a strict diet but still calls daily and takes food when needed. She teaches Sunday School weekly and sees that three local children have clean clothes for church. Tom provides transportation for them each Sunday. They are two people who continue to offer Random Acts of Kindness.
A big help
Ruth Beal of 2414 Sunny Lane, Cape Girardeau, called to thanks her duplex neighbors who often mow her lawn when they mow their own. They are Diane Wills and Diane's friend, Debbie.
A friendly ride
Lola Cameron called to say that Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson pick her up every morning to go to senior center. Without them she would have to take at taxi. They also volunteer at the senior citizens center.
