I'D LIKE to report some random acts of kindness that happened all last year. I have wonderful neighbors. I'm old and disabled but I have two neighbors across the street who always see that my trash and recyclables get down to the curb, and they always return my trash cans up to the back of my house so I can put it back in my garage. Another couple to the side of me, see that all the trash is picked up out of my yard. When we have a wind storm, a lot of tree limbs and other trash blows up. In the fall of the year, my neighbor always mulches my leaves. I don't what I would do without them. Then there's a lady up the street that checks on me about once a week, brings me cookies and other goodies that she prepares and it's good for my well being. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart because they don't wait for Random Acts of Kindness Week. They do it all year long.

THE FACULTY and staff at Alma Schrader Elementary School has collected clothing to donate for the career closet during Random Acts of Kindness Week.

THE MANAGEMENT of Tric's Restaurant of Altenburg reports: "Our cook, Chuck, always goes the extra mile with his duties and he comes up with ways to improve our business. He recently changed the flat tire on a car of a customer. He is one swell guy.

ROSE AND Harlin Oberndorfer of Altenburg praised Rose's 85-year-old mother, Hilda Mirly, who gives of herself each day by helping at their restaurant, Tric's. She delivers meals to local folks who are unable to leave home. Said Rose Oberndorfer: "She is a mother and person to be proud of."

I JUST wanted comment on the wonderful job that the tellers at NationsBank on Mt. Auburn Road are doing in the drive-thru. Every time I come through, they always say good morning or good afternoon and they always say their name. I just think is wonderful and it's very good customer service.

I JUST wanted to report a Random Act of Kindness by Butch Adams and Fred Essner from the Millersville area. They came over and hooked up a tractor and mower so someone could mow. Her husband was out of state taking care of a brother who's ill and the mower needed to be hooked up. They sure did a good job doing it.

WITH THE Random Acts of Kindness coming up, I would like to recommend Leila Boldrey at Saxony Village as tops. For several years now, she has been going around placing our newspaper on our porches each day. When a new person moves in, she furnishes them with a fresh baked loaf of bread. Also, one day a week, she works at FISH pantry, another day at hospital, another day at the police station. This is all great.

I JUST want to say thank you to Jan Anderson for her work with Moms In Touch as the area coordinator. People like this aren't recognized enough in our community and I just appreciated her letter written to the editor on Tuesday, May 4. I just ask and pray God's blessings on Jan and all the wonderful women who are participating in Moms In Touch in the Cape and Jackson area. More power to you moms.

I'M A Chaffee resident and I just want to submit a name for Act of Kindness week: Keith Carr. He's chief of police of Chaffee and he has started a scouting troop for the young boys in Chaffee since no one was willing to start it. His wife helps him and they take them out on camping trips even though they don't have any children of their own. He spends a lot of time with them and I think that's an act of kindness for him to do that with those children.
