KINDER TO ADDRESS AMERICAN LEGION CONVENTION IN CAPE

State Sen. Peter Kinder will be guest speaker at the Missouri American Legion Convention here this weekend.

Kinder will be the keynote speaker during the 10 a.m. Saturday session of the convention being held at the Holiday Inn.

Kinder, a Republican, is of Cape Girardeau. He is the associate publisher of the Southeast Missourian.

The American Legion Legionnaires and Auxiliary conventions get under way with registrations and executive meetings today. The four-cay convention will end Sunday.

Desiree A. Stoy of Mansfield, Ohio, will be keynote speaker at the Auxiliary convention being held at the Drury Lodge. Stoy is central division national vice president of the Auxiliary.

As many as 1,200 people are expected for the two conventions.
