JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder says his challenge to the federal health care overhaul will be handled by lawyer Thor Hearne.
Kinder, a Republican, has said he plans to sue in federal court and focus on senior issues and the solvency of Medicare. He is raising private money to pay for the legal challenge.
The lieutenant governor's office said Wednesday that Hearne would represent Kinder.
In 2006, Hearne helped defend a Missouri law requiring to voters show a government-issued photo ID to cast a ballot. The Missouri Supreme Court ruled the requirement was unconstitutional.
