State Rep. Mary Kasten will serve as campaign chairman for Peter Kinder in his run for Southeast Missouri's 27th State Senate seat.
"I'm proud to have Mary Kasten leading our team," said Kinder. "Rep. Kasten has offered innovative, cost-effective solutions to social service programs as founder of the Community Caring Council. By coordinating state, private and public agency resources, she has created a model for the state of Missouri and the nation."
Kasten expressed her pleasure in coming on board Kinder's campaign. "Our state senate needs the kind of fresh, vigorous approach to government that Peter will bring with him to Jefferson City. I am excited about working with Peter in the General Assembly in 1993."
Kinder said Kasten's strong record on economic development, her innovation in family and individual care and her commitment to education "clearly support my campaign platform for new ideas and new leadership for change."
He said, "Rep. Kasten brings a wealth of commitment and wisdom to the campaign, especially in social outreach programs."
Now in her sixth term in the Missouri General Assembly, Kasten has served on several House committees, including budget, commerce, children youth and families, higher education, and appropriations for health and mental health.
