On Friday someone sneaked inside the security fence at the Sigma Chi house in Cape Girardeau and spray-painted the fraternity's mascot, a goat named Sharon.

Early Sunday morning the fraternity reported the goat missing.

Monday afternoon the unharmed goat mysteriously turned up inside fencing at Cape LaCroix Animal Hospital in Cape Girardeau. The goat reportedly is back home now, just in time for Saturday's Homecoming.

Sharon had lived at the Sigma Chi house at 1146 N. Frederick St. for only three weeks before her kidnapping, a member said. She was allowed to roam freely on a 2-acre plot surrounded by a security fence.

The fraternity referred all other questions to its attorney, Ken McManaman. Calls from the Southeast Missourian to McManaman were not immediately returned Monday.
