BENTON, Mo. -- A Kentucky man was charged Wednesday with six sex crime counts, according to the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
Sergio Valdivia-Vera, known also as Sergio Valdivia Arlington, 33, is accused of engaging in inappropriate sexual acts with a victim younger than 14.
He's charged with three counts of deviate sexual intercourse and three counts of child molestation. The incidents allegedly occurred in 2001 when the victim was 9 years old and living east of Benton, according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter.
Valdivia-Vera was arrested in Kentucky and awaits extradition to Missouri. His bond has been lowered from $100,000 to $50,000 by the court, Walter said in a news release Thursday.
