KENNETT, Mo. -- A public hearing on the proposed regulation of adult entertainment in Kennett was held before a packed house at the city council meeting Tuesday evening. The meeting was in response to public outcry over Vikings USA, a "strip club" in operation in Kennett. The city's mayor stated the business has been inspected by law enforcement and liquor control representatives with no violations being reported. But he said the bar represents a moral problem for the community. City attorney Terry McVey told officials the city's recourse is to regulate the adult entertainment business. He has prepared an ordinance to be considered by the council at its next meeting.
