KENNETT, Mo. -- Kennett's city fire marshal is charged with stealing, and he was disciplined last week by the city council.
Scott Tutor will appear in municipal court next month in connection with a report at a local Wal-Mart. On July 29, Tutor allegedly took a $59 camera flash from the store.
On Tuesday, the council voted to demote Tutor, who has 24 years of experience, from fire marshal to apparatus operator with a reduction in pay; suspended him for 30 working days with no pay, reporting back to work Sept. 30; and placed him on one year probation.
A letter of reprimand also will be placed in his personnel file. He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 9.
