NEW HAMBURG -- The Kelso School District has scheduled a Tuesday night orientation for parents with children entering kindergarten next fall.
Parents of children 5 years old by July 1 are expected to attend the meeting at 7:30 in the school cafeteria at New Hamburg.
Parents should bring the child's birth certificate, Social Security card and current immunization record for each child being enrolled.
Registration and enrollment forms will be available.
School officials will answer parents' questions about their child's education.
Topics will include the kindergarten screening process, student eligibility, kindergarten curriculum and things parents can do to prepare their child for school.
A sign-up sheet for taking the KIDS tests will also be available. The KIDS test will be given the week of April 24 at school.
