Kelso man charged with rape, molestation

A Kelso man was in jail Tuesday on charges he raped a 6-year-old girl, Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter reported.

Justin A. Williams, 22, was charged with statutory rape and child molestation Tuesday in Scott County Circuit Court, online court records show.

The Scott County Sheriff's Department received a report Monday afternoon that Williams was molesting a young girl at a residence in Kelso, Walter said in a news release Tuesday.

Officers arrived to find Williams had fled, but within 10 minutes, they found him and took him into custody, the release stated.

During the investigation, Williams admitted to Detective Jessica Martin that he had committed "acts of unlawful behavior" with a 6-year-old girl, the release stated.

Online court records show bond was set at $50,000 cash only, with the stipulation Williams have no contact with any minors.
