BENTON, Mo. -- A Kelso, Mo., father and son face drug charges after an attempt by the Scott County Sheriff's Department to locate a wanted man lead to alleged illegal drugs found in their home.
According to a news release from the sheriff's department, Raymond M. Martin Sr., 48, and Raymond M. Martin Jr., 17, both also face charges of hindering prosecution for allegedly hiding a wanted person inside their residence and lying to officers when they asked if the person was there.
Martin Sr. is charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $5,000. Martin Jr. is charged with possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1,000.
Sheriff Rick Walter said investigators received information about possible drug activity at the Martin residence when they were searching for the wanted person. A search of the residence was performed Thursday afternoon after the department obtained a warrant and found marijuana and cocaine as well as drug paraphernalia.
