BENTON -- Absentee ballots are available at the Scott County Clerk's Office for the March 5 special election on a measure calling for the annexation of land by the town of Kelso.
The area to be annexed is west and northwest of the Kelso city limits in Cedar Hills Subdivision.
The annexation proposal requires approval by simple majorities in both the city and the area to be annexed in order to take effect, said Scott County Clerk Bob Kielhofner.
There are 301 registered voters in Kelso and an estimated 30 voters in the area proposed for annexation, Kielhofner said.
