Students enrolled in the Student To Employment Program, or STEP, at Thomas W. Kelly High School in Benton recently toured area businesses.
Nineteen students toured Lone Star Industries, the Southeast Missourian and the Scott County Health Department to gain information about career planning.
The STEP program is designed to assist students in developing skills for needed on the job and in daily life. Field trips are planned during the year to make students aware of different jobs and the training needed for those jobs.
Businesses or industries interested in hosting a field trip or making an in-school presentation should contact Dorothy Deason at 545-3541.
