BENTON -- Emily Shanks, a sophomore at Kelly High School, has been chosen by her classmates to represent her school at the annual Sophomore Pilgrimage to Jefferson City on April 12-13.
To be chosen, students must be within the upper one-fourth percentile of their classes scholastically and demonstrate high standards of honor, courage, citizenship, leadership and service.
Shanks is being sponsored by The Quest Club MFWC/GFWC of Cape Girardeau. She is the daughter of Jeanne Shanks of Sikeston.
Shanks is a member of the Beta Club, SADD, PEP, and is chapter treasurer of FHA and FHA Region 6 president, a drum majorette and an honor student.
