JACKSONVILLE, N.C. -- Marine Corps Pvt. Matthew L. Stewart, 19, stationed in Jacksonville, graduated from two months of helicopter training in San Diego, Calif. His specialty is flight equipment.
He is a 2001 graduate of Kelly High School and joined the corps immediately after graduation. He is the son of Mark L. Stewart of Commerce, Mo.
Two receive Army Achievement Medals
FORT CHAFFEE, Ark. -- SFC Keith Standridge and 2nd Lt. Michael Woods, members of Company C, 1140th Engineer Battalion, were awarded Army Achievement Medals.
They received the awards for the meritorious leadership displayed at annual training at Fort Chaffee in June.
Standridge has been a member of the Missouri National Guard for over 18 years and is currently assigned as the unit's operations sergeant. In civilian life, Standridge is employed by the Missouri Army National Guard and resides in Jackson, Mo.
Woods is currently assigned as a combat engineer platoon leader. In civilian life, Woods is employed as a law enforcement officer by Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau and resides in Jackson.
Perryville man finishes course in Navy
Navy Seaman Apprentice Christopher M. Clifton, son of Juila M. and Jerry M. Clifton of Perryville, Mo., recently graduated from the entry level electronic intelligence course while assigned to Pensacola, Fla. He is a 2000 graduate of Perryville High.
