The Kansas City Star reported she and three nurses from Joplin, Mo., will leave May 28. Twelve nurses and two clinical officers are ready to help her in Kenya.

Mbuthia said it's all a way to show her gratitude to a Canadian medical missionary who treated her heart problems for free when she was a young girl. Her family eventually moved to Joplin, but lost its apartment in last May's tornado.
