KC firm gets incentives for expansion

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A western Missouri company that makes electrical and power-producing equipment plans to add jobs and expand its product line with help from the state.

Gov. Jay Nixon stopped at Milbank Manufacturing in Kansas City on Tuesday to announce a $207,000 package of economic development incentives.

The 84-year-old company is planning a $2.7 million expansion that will add 57 jobs. Milbank produces about 10,000 electrical items, such as outlets and circuit breakers, for utilities, contractors and other users.

Two years ago, Milbank began making and selling products for the wind turbine industry. Nixon's office says the company is adding more product lines for use in renewable energy equipment.
