HAYTI, Mo. -- Two juveniles who escaped from the Division of Youth Services facility in New Madrid, Mo., were taken back into custody Sunday at the Double Nickel Truck Stop at Hayti, the Daily American Republic reported. According to the Hayti Police Department, around 12:45 a.m. officers were called to the truck stop regarding a truck driver who had dropped off two runaways. Officers learned the driver had picked them up at the Marston, Mo., exit. When he learned they were runaways, he stopped at the truck stop and alerted an employee, who notified police. Officers took the juveniles -- a 14-year-old from Caruthersville, Mo., and a 15-year-old from Brownwood, Mo. -- into custody. Officers learned the two juveniles had escaped from a facility in New Madrid. Both were processed at the Hayti Police Department, turned over to the Division of Youth Services and taken back to New Madrid.
