A juvenile was detained after being found with a stolen firearm after jumping a fence to get into the fairgrounds of the SEMO District Fair on Monday, Sept. 9.
According to Cape Girardeau Police Department public information officer Bobby Newton, the juvenile was found with the stolen firearm in his backpack after he was detained by a police officer immediately after entering the fair.
Newton stated in an email to the Southeast Missourian that the juvenile was turned over to the juvenile authorities after the incident.
There’s a lack of information available because of the subject being a juvenile.
