A Cape Girardeau man was found guilty Tuesday of stealing a hammer drill from his employer and selling it through an acquaintance.

Thurman Lee Watson, 51, allegedly stole a Milwaukee brand hammer drill worth about $520 from his employer, Rental Land.

Watson gave the drill to Terry Anthony, 24, who sold it to a Cape Girardeau resale shop for $35.

Anthony said he did not know the drill was stolen when he sold it.

Watson is free on bond, pending sentencing scheduled for Jan. 12. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
