KENNETT, Mo. -- There is a new judge in the case against a former Kennett police officer.
Jeremy Crawford appeared in Dunklin County Circuit Court on Wednesday. A motion for a change of judge was granted, and Stephen Sharp will now hear the case. Prosecuting Attorney Stephen Sokoloff said he would be meeting with Sharp in the next few days on a new hearing date.
Crawford was arrested in December and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, theft, tampering with physical evidence and acceding to corruption by a public servant.
At the time of his arrest, Crawford was a member of the Kennett Police Department. He was dismissed from the police force shortly afterward.
