CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Heidi Spitler has joined the staff at the Academy of Dance here.
Spitler is a recent graduate, magna cum laude, from Oklahoma City University, where she earned a bachelor of performing arts degree. She was a four-year dancer with the American Spirit Dance Company, and has appeared as feature dancer in various numbers of the company's annual shows.
She has worked in several promotions, including the Jill St. John Fashion Show.

She received additional education in dance in New York City at Steps Studio, and in Chicago at Gus Giordano Dance Studio.
She also has acting training with Carveth Osterhaus at Oklahoma City, and at Gately/Poole Acting Studio of Meisner Technique in New York City. She was also a model with the John Casablanca Modeling Agency in Oklahomas City.
She has teaching experience with the Oklahoma City University's Children Theatre Dance Program and at Camp Walt Whitman in New Hampshire.
She will be teaching teen jazz and beginning adult tap and jazz here.
