Jackson High School singers enjoyed a strong performance at state contest April 29.
Five girls and three boys received "1" ratings at state, as well as the mixed double quartet, the madrigal ensemble and the JHS Chamber Chcoir, Women's Choir and Men's Choir.
Girls earning "1" solo ratings were Abby Burlbaugh, Cheryl Trotter, Arika Lucy, Andrea Penland and Erika Beasley. Boys were Zach Morgan, Brian Haas and Adam Sherinski.
The Madrigal Ensemble featured Joe Niswonger, Chris McQuay, Ryan McQuay, Adam Sherinski, Janice Doberenz, Andrea Penland, Christy Miskell and Julie Roth.
The Music Department ahd previously cleaned up at district contest, where 13 solo "1's" were recorded, as wsell as several groups.
