JHS GRADS AMONG SOUTHEAST HONOREES

CAPE GIRARDEAU - Individuals and organizations that contribute to the intellectual and personal development of students in extraordinary ways at Southeast Missouri State University were honored on campus Dec. 3 at the first annual Student Development Awards Ceremony.

Among those honored were Ryan Harper and Sarah Fluegge, both of Jackson. Both won in the Undergraduate Essay Contest.

Hosted by the associate provost, Dean of Students Office and the Offices of Student Development, the dinner attracted 85 members of the academic community in a celebrative and festive event in the University Center Ballroom. The ceremony recognized members of the campus community who consistently demonstrated a commitment to the intellectual, ethical, emotional and career development of Southeast students through collaboration and support of programs and services in the area of student development.

The theme for the 1999 awards ceremony was "Student Development and Social Responsibility."
