JCPENNEY AWARD

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Harry Rediger, manager of JCPenney Department Store in West Park Mall here, is winner of the JCPenney Chairman's Award for managerial excellence.

William R. Howell, chairman of the company, praised the local store for highly productive management last year.

"Mr. Rediger, his management team, and all our associates there did an outstanding job of serving our customers and it showed," said Howell. "This store is among the best of the best."

The West Park Mall store finished the year ranked in the top 8 percent of JCPenney's 1,312 stores nationwide, evaluated in terms of sales and profit productivity per square foot of store space.

Rediger recently received the award at a banquet held in Phoenix, Ariz.
