Parents can obtain free photographs of their children at the KidCare Photo I.D. event from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday at Kmart in Cape Girardeau.
The Jaycees regularly sponsor the event as part of a national effort to provide parents with identification of their children in the event of an emergency. The KidCare event was developed to increase awareness about missing children and educate parents about how they can protect them.
The identification kits will include a photograph and the child's height and weight statistics.
"We hope no one will ever need to use these documents, but parents can at least have peace of mind to know they have the information in a safe place should the need arise," said Jerry Zickmund, Kmart store manager.
For more information about the event, contact Zickmund at 334-5063 or the Jaycee office at 334-0416.
